The Orphan Heart

A different kind of heart then the ones we have been looking at this week is the Orphan Heart.

An orphan heart has alienation in it's very core. That sense of alienation and abandonment unchecked may be the great precursor of suicide. In Canada, suicide among our youth is the fourth leading cause of death.

God the eternal Father offers His only Son, Jesus to heal the orphan's heart.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new Spirit in you. I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26

My feet they are sore

And my limbs they are weary

Long is the way and the mountains are wild

Soon will the twilight

Close moonless and dreary

Over the the path of the orphan child

Yet distant and soft the night breeze is blowing

Clouds there are none

And clear skies beam mild

God in His mercy

Protection is showing

Comfort and hope

To the orphan child..

A Holy God bent down to me and fathered my orphan heart.

He whispered in my ear.

"I will not leave you as an orphan. I will come to you." Jesus, John 14

These are His instructions to me as he removed and healed my orphan heart:

"Speak up for those who can not speak for themselves

For the rights of all who are destitute." Proverbs 31:6

Jesus heals the orphan's heart.
