"His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light."-Mathew 17)
THE SECOND ADVENT
First as an infant
Now the Infinite
The hand that held the nails
The feet fashioned to the cross
Will stand
Upon the mountain top
Come quickly Lord Jesus
Come back soon
The world groans and waits
For your return
In this time of our lament
Hope waits for you in this second advent
Once he laid his glory down
In his glory He will come
Blessed are the ones he claims his own
Blessed are the ones who opened up their alabaster box
And poured their life down
At the foot of the cross
Looking back, looking back
At what Jesus has done
Looking forward
To the same Jesus who comes
To that day when all will see
God of Glory and Majesty
His hair will appear white as wool
In his mouth a two edged sword
Jesus who opened the door to grace
Shines like the sun on his face
Gentle Jesus who came to die
Brought to us the refining fire
Raptured by the vision of the coming splendor
Oh Lord Jesus I surrender
This same Jesus who came for us
Surrendered himself on the cross
Will come again and the world will see
The King in all his Majesty
First as an infant
Now the Infinite
The hand that held the nails
The feet fashioned to the cross
Will stand
Upon the mountain top.
